Enjoy a week full of Fall / Autumn themed toddler activities! This is a really fun weekly activity guide and a great way to teach and explore the seasons.


Each day we have a book to read (or a read aloud to watch if you don't have a copy, a song or dance to enjoy and 2-3 themed activities.

Raking Leaves Sensory Play for Toddlers
This is such a relaxing Fall activity for toddlers.
We used a base of sand (you want to use play sand for these) and then added the craft leaves and a rake. So simple. You can use real leaves too.

Easy Fall tree collage craft
Nilofer shared this easy fall toddler activity idea - draw a simple tree and then used colored paper to create a collage.
When creating a collage with a toddler I recommend using a glue stick and then covering the whole picture with glue and then letting them stick on the paper.
As they get older they can try using the glue stick themselves.

Outside Activity - Leaf Color Sorting
This Fall toddler activity was shared by Stephanie - so easy too! All you need is some bags and draw or stick on a picture of different colored leaves.
What a fun way to take a nature hike or walk in the park and turn it into a fun Fall themed toddler activity idea.

Sara shared this fun apple washing activity idea - another really easy Fall toddler activity idea. You can use real apples or the pretend play ones like these.

Craft - Make a Leaf Suncatcher
Cut out a cardboard circle and add some sticky back paper to it. Let your todlder stick on their leaves and then you have a lovely leaf suncatcher! Thanks to Amada for sharing this leaf craft idea with us.

Sensory Play - Add Leaves to a Sensory Bin
Sensory bins don't need to be complicated. Make a leaf exploration sensory bin by adding some leaves, sticks and seeds.
I would add a magnifying glass as well (you can get toddler friendly ones HERE).

Outside Play - Listening & Observing Walk
Take a walk around your local neighbourhood. What nature sounds can you hear? What can see now that it is Autumn/Fall? Chat to your toddler about what is different now that it is Autumn/Fall instead of Summer?
