Sensory bins using rice are one of these easiest sensory bins to set up, and make a great inexpensive activity for toddlers and preschoolers.
Sensory Bins Using Rice
Our sensory bin posts are some of the most popular on My Bored Toddler, and feedback in our Facebook Group found that many of your found the idea of sensory bins too overwhelming - especially some of the fancy and complicated ones you see on Pinterest.
My advice is to keep it SIMPLE! A plastic container with some plain rice and some scoops and containers from your Tupperware cupboard are really all you need. I've put together a simple sensory bin challenge (you can sign up HERE) which is a FREE challenge to encourage you to get started with sensory bins. The challenge uses simple and inexpensive items and you have a new activity each day.
One of the easiest ways to fill a sensory bin is with rice, and this collection of rice sensory bin setups will keep you busy for a long time! You'll notice that many use plain rice and if you want to get creative and color the rice you can get my simple recipe for that here.
