Is there anywhere near you that has construction going on? Why not take a walk or drive past and talk about what you can see. Are there any cranes or diggers? What tools are they using? What are the workers wearing? What do you think they're building?

ACTIVITY - SCOOPING POM POMS
Scooping Pom Poms - This activity was shared by Stacey. Use your diggers to scoop up pom poms. The big ones can be found HERE. You can also scoop up balls from ball pits!
If you don't have a toy like this, use a plastic shovel or even a dustpan to scoop them up (I use a clean one for playing!) while pretending to be a digger.
CRAFT - Get Hammering! Painting with Hammers
Let's pretend to be construction workers. Get out those hammers (play hammers of course!) and try some Hammer Painting. This is an activity from ToddlerApproved. See how to set it up HERE.

ACTIVITY - GET BUILDING
Today we're getting out the blocks! It doesn't matter what type of blocks you have, get them out and get building. Work together to make a building, make a bridge, make a school etc. There's no rules - the aim to encourage them to be creative.
SENSORY PLAY - BLOCKS AND SHAVING CREAM
This fun take on building with blocks adds shaving cream to the play. Use the shaving cream as 'cement' to create your structure. This idea is from No Time for Flashcards and you can see how to set it up HERE.

Sensory Play - Crushed Cereal Sensory Bin
Today we're going to get creative and make another sensory bin to use our construction toys with. Use what you already have to make your base. Sand is good, but crushed cereal is a great option too. Cocoa Pops make great 'rocks', oats are good for sand, and corn flakes make a nice 'crunch' when run over.
This construction sensory bin was shared by Val - she used kinetic sand in one side and crushed cocoa pops in the other.
CRAFT - BOX CONSTRUCTION
Save your boxes, get them all out. Add some tape, glue and any other craft decorations you have around. See what you can make!
