Sensory Play - Washing Pumpkins
Why stop at just washing toys! Grab some pumpkins (real or you can use pretend play ones like THESE) and wash them! Throw them in a bucket of soapy water and you'll be amazed how long this activity will keep a toddler busy.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY - Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Do you have a pumpkin patch nearby? Why not go and visit one. Talk about what you can see.

What color are the pumkins?
Why are they all different sizes?
Can you find a BIG pumpkin?
Can you find a SMALL pumpkin?
If you don't have a pumpkin patch nearby try a fruit and vegetable shop or grocery store instead.

CRAFT - Pumpkin Painting
Paint real pumpkins!
This fun pumpkin painting activity was shared by Katie! If you use acryclic paint it will stay on better, although you might prefer the washable paints for an easier clean up!

CRAFT - Apple Stamped Pumpkins
This is an activity that has been around for years and is one that toddlers and preschoolers will love doing. It's easy to set up too - see how to set up your apple stamped pumpkins HERE.

SENSORY BIN - Red Lentil Pumpkin Scoop!
This simple sensory bin idea shared by Kika in our Facebook group a few years ago is always a hit! Use a clear plastic container and draw a face to make it a jack-o-lantern pumpkin.
Let your child scoop us the lentils to fill the pumpkin! You could also use orange pom poms to scoop up if you prefer.

This scunched paper pumpkin craft is easy enough for toddlers to do (with help) and the scrunching of the paper is excellent for developing fine motor skills. See the full instructions HERE.

BAKING - Pumpkin Muffins!
Today we're not just playing with pumpkins, we're baking with them! You can choose any recipe you like, but I recommend this pumpkin muffin recipe.
Don't forget the idea of this is to let your toddler help out as much as possible - so it's a little bit more about the process than the finished product! Get the recipe HERE.

CRAFT - Sun Catcher Pumpkins.
Cut out a cardboard pumpkin outline. Place sticky back paper over it and then use small pieces of orange cellophane to create a fun sun catcher pumpkin!
