Apple stamped pumpkins

Why not share this post!

Apple stamped pumpkins are such a fun Halloween tradition! This is an activity that has been around for years and is one that toddlers and preschoolers will love doing. It's a simple Halloween craft for toddlers and one that is nice and easy to set up.

Apple Stamped Pumpkins

Welcome to everyone who is taking part in our 5-day toddler Halloween craft challenge (you can still sign up here). Today we are starting with a nice simple Halloween craft - apple stamped pumpkins. If you get to the end of this activity and want to keep going, you can carry on with more fruit and vegetable painting.

If you want to add a literacy element to this activity, reading the book 5 Little Pumpkins is a great idea. You can get that book HERE on Amazon.

What you need for your apple stamped pumpkins:

  • Apple - 1 is enough
  • Orange paint - I recommend washable paint like THIS one
  • Green marker pen
  • Black card or paper (optional - to add a face to your pumpkin)
  • Paper plate to put the paint on (I use paper plates as you can throw them away after - you can use another type of paint holder if you prefer)
  • White construction paper

How to paint pumpkins with apples

  1. Add your orange paint to your paper plate and cut your apples in half.

2. Stamp your apples into the paint. Make sure they are covered in the paint.

3. Use your apple to make a print on the paper.

4. Keep stamping until your page is full. With this age group, some prints will look better than others, but it's about the process, not the end product!

5. Use a green marker to draw the top of the pumpkin. Once your pumpkins are dry you can also draw on a face with a black marker or cut out eyes and a mouth with black construction paper.
