The book of once upon a time review

Do you love Disney as much as I do? I have to confess that I was a huge fan of the Disney books and shows as a child, and it’s exciting to see that my daughters are starting to enjoy these classic stories as well. As much I can appreciate the newer shows and books, there’s something magical about the stories that we all grew up with.

My favourites were the Snow White and Winnie the Pooh stories. I just adored them, so it’s probably no accident that my children already know these classic stories. To celebrate Book Week (which started Monday August 24th), the Disney Junior Channel is bringing back its popular ‘The Book of Once Upon a Time’ series, launching season 2.

The book of once upon a time 1

If you missed the first season, or haven’t heard of it before, it’s a lovely Australian produced show where Australian actor and playwright, Kate Mulvany (you may recognise her from All Saints), reads a classic Disney story each weekday evening (7.10pm AEDT). Kate is a master storyteller, bringing the stories to life, in a fun and interactive way that kids and parents will love.

You can check out the first episode of the new season on Monday 24th August at 7.10pm (AEDT) or find all of last season’s episodes on the Disney website.

If you have missed the first episode, or would like to see what all of the excitement is about you can watch it here

This season your children can get excited about tales including:
• Snow White and the Great Jewel Hunt
• Winnie The Pooh
• Aladdin
• Sleeping Beauty
• Frozen

My girls can’t wait for the Sleeping Beauty episode and are just a little bit excited about watching the Winnie the Pooh story too.

The Book of Once Upon a Time 2

Each episode of ‘The Book of Once Upon a Time’ ends with ‘The Land of Once Upon a Time’ lullaby, providing the perfect opportunity to say, “Night, Night”, and start the bedtime routine! If your little one goes to bed early, or the time isn’t convenient, you can catch up with any missed episodes on the Disney Junior website.

Where to find ‘The Book of Once Upon a Time’
The Disney Junior channel is where the magical storytelling comes to life. Disney Junior is available to all homes with Foxtel and can be found on channel 709. Tune in each weeknight at 7.10pm (AEDT) to enjoy the magic!

You can also watch these stories anytime on their website , and you can catch up with past seasons or missed episodes as well.

You can also find all of the stories in Ebook form from the Disney Story Central App available from iTunes
