Closer to Nature'no spill' cups

I was recently asked to put the new Closer to Nature range of no spill baby and toddler cups to the test and review them for you. My initial response to this was to tell them that I didn't believe in 'no spill' cups anymore, especially after trying (and buying) so many of these with my older daughter and coming to the conclusion that 'no spill' really meant 'doesn't spill quite so much!'.

Despite this, Closer to Nature still sent me their lovely new range to review, confidently informing me that they really were 'no spill'. I have really put these cups to the test - we've taken them on holidays, we've thrown them in my handbag (the one place you really don't want them to leak), we've taken them to theme parks and play groups and we haven't been particularly gentle with them.

My verdict - we love them! Over almost 3 weeks, the only time they leaked was when I forgot to put the lid on properly (oops!), otherwise they were completely spill proof. While my kids tested the straw cups (9+ months) and the sports bottle (12+ months), I passed the younger sippee and straw cups to friends with younger children, and they also reported back that they didn't spill, and that they were very happy with them.

My favourite bottle from this range for children over 12 months old is definitely the Sports bottle. The look really nice, with very pretty designs on them, and hold 300ml which is plenty for an outing. The feature that I loved the most was the hard spout at the top. My kids have a tendency to chew on the tops of drink bottles, so having a hard spout meant that this didn't affect it in any way, and didn't alter the 'no spill' ability of the bottle. The bottoms, tops and handles can all be interchanged too which is a nice little bonus.

I definitely recommend Closer to Nature bottles if you are looking for a 'no spill' drink solution (and who isn't really!). Remember ... they passed the handbag test and didn't spill!

We took her to a Grand Prix at about 15 weeks old. She slept through most of it and now if we want her to sleep we stick on some motor racing.
